Q & A

Is there a dress code for the wedding?

We suggest dressing smartly for the occasion! While we encourage guests to look their best and embrace formal attire, let's make sure everyone shines without stealing the spotlight from the newlyweds. For the ladies we welcome bright colors. Hereby we recommend choosing longer styles to help create a harmonious and elegant look for the wedding. This will ensure everyone looks great together as we celebrate this special day! Can I bring a plus-one?

Normally, we would love to have everyone’s partners with us to celebrate. Still, to keep the day personal and balanced, we’ve unfortunately decided to invite only those mentioned by name on the RSVP page of this website. HOWEVER we’re happy to make an exception for the civil ceremony on Friday 12/09, where all partners are very welcome!

What about Friday & Saturday?

On Friday, everyone is warmly invited to our civil wedding at Antwerp’s city hall. This is the official moment where we say "Yes". It’s a short and formal ceremony, and of course not obligatory since we understand not everyone can take a day off work. There’s nothing big planned afterward so we can save our energy for the festivities on the next day. Saturday is where the celebration really begins. We willl celebrate love with music, dancing and good vibes until late.

Where to stay?

With our wedding and the townhall right in the heart of Antwerp, you’ll find plenty of fantastic hotels just steps away. For classic comfort, the Hilton Antwerp Old Town offers spacious rooms and elegant amenities right at Groenplaats. If you prefer boutique style, Hotel Julien and Hotel Franq both blend modern design with historic charm and are not too far. Hotel Rubens-Grote Markt is less than a minute from the townhall and the lively Grote Markt, with spacious rooms and a peaceful courtyard. Gulde Schoen Suitehotel Antwerp features stylish suites in a beautifully renovated building, while Hotel De Witte Lelie Antwerp is a luxury boutique hotel with artistic flair. All of these options are within easy walking distance, so you’ll be right at the heart of the festivities!

What should I give as a gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! But, if you feel the urge to spoil us a little more, a contribution towards our honeymoon or other future adventures would be amazing. Think of it as the ultimate wedding present that doesn't need wrapping! You can find all the details on the 'Gifts' page.

Can I give a speech at the wedding?

We love that you want to share your thoughts and well-wishes! To ensure we have enough time for everyone, please contact Sigrid Simons at siske35@hotmail.com if you would like to give a speech. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Are there any transportation options available to and from the wedding venue?

We recommend using a taxi service/Uber or coming with your own car, but don't drink and drive. Be responsible! There is a moderate amount of parking space available at the venue.
